Climb to the top bench
A banya on a mountain river where the whole suite is yours: a wood-fired Russian steam room, a Finnish sauna, a herbal steam room or a hammam, each with its own shower and lounge. For 2–4 hours, with no strangers.

First round
The higher, the hotter
Hot air gathers under the ceiling, so the floor and the top bench can be thirty degrees apart. You choose how high to sit.

Where everyone starts: 5–7 minutes while the body gets used to the heat.

The place for venik steaming: dense heat, but easy to breathe.

Climb up for a couple of minutes, then straight down to the cold water.
Plunge pool
From the heat into cold water
In the Russian suite the plunge pool is cut into the rock on a terrace above the river; the Finnish suite has a wooden plunge tub on its own terrace. Both are filled from a mountain stream. The herbal suite has warm foot baths instead, and in the hammam you rinse with water from marble basins.

Rest
Rest for as long as you steamed
Between rounds you have your suite's own lounge with windows on the Katun. Tea, berry mors and water are included in the session.

Water on red-hot stones turns to steam in a second — that is how a Russian banya raises the heat.
Drag the ladle to the stones and let go: the sharper the throw, the thicker the steam.
